Charlie Russ, Founder of the HomeBuyer Angels, is a leading
authority on Rent to Own and lease purchase. He has personally interviewed 100s
of individuals in government, real estate brokerage, real estate development,
community banking and not for profit agencies dedicated to affordable housing.
Years of research, data collection and practical experience with successfully
helping people complete the rent to own process have lead him to compile a list
of the “Ten most important things you should know about rent to own.” His
efforts have been very active in the Latino and African American communities.
His credentials include working with some of the most prominent community banks,
real estate brokerages and national homebuilders in the United States. They
endorse the HomeBuyer Angels because they all share Mr. Russ’s vision to assist
people realize the American Dream of home ownership. Mr. Russ has his
Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Notre Dame and his Masters Degree in
Marketing from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
He has spent his entire career taking new products and service to market with
prestigious global companies including Price Waterhouse and Ernst & Young. Most
recently, his background has been complemented with 7 years of mortgage banking

John Parcell, COO,
Leveraged 10 year consultative selling and IT background to implement very
low cost and scalable infrastructure for HBA over the past year. Previously
managed a significant lease portfolio comprised of strategic IT assets for
his fortune 1000 client base and generated several million dollars in new
revenue by opening accounts Archer Daniels Midland, John Deere, Navteq
and Caterpillar. Mr. Parcell has his Bachelor's Degree in Music, Vocal
Performance from Columbia College Chicago. He has performed in various
venues in the area like the former Medina Temple, Ravinia, UIC Pavilion,
Biddy Mulligans and the Civic Opera House with groups as diverse as the
'House of Hero's' to the 'North Shore Choral Society'. He spent years as a
Region Leader for Hope worldwide Illinois serving various neighborhoods
throughout Chicago such as Altgeld Gardens, Ida B Wells and Englewood.
He is also an active supporter and former team leader at Connections for the
Homeless in Evanston.
